Pre-existing medical conditions

This part matters, especially on a longer trip.

Pre-existing medical conditions are excluded under OGSure.

This means claims arising directly or indirectly from a pre-existing medical condition are not covered.

The definition is broad and can include treatment, medication, advice or diagnosis in the previous five years, as well as known or foreseeable conditions.

You can still buy OGSure if you have a pre-existing medical condition, but you should read the policy wording carefully before buying so you understand what is and is not covered.

For a plain-English explanation, visit our Pre-Existing Medical Conditions page.

Where can you travel?

Your cover depends on your country of residence, destination and the geographical area shown on your policy.

Your country of residence is generally the country where you normally live or work for more than three consecutive months.

Before you buy, check that:

  • your country of residence is eligible
  • your destination is covered
  • your trip falls within the geographical limits shown on your policy
To check both, use our Where We Cover page.

Emergency help while you travel

OGSure includes 24/7 emergency assistance.

If you have a serious medical emergency abroad, the emergency assistance team can help guide the next steps. In many hospitalisation cases, direct payment can often be arranged locally.

You must contact the Emergency Assistance Centre as soon as possible if you need inpatient treatment, MRI or CT scans, medical evacuation or repatriation.
