Planning your next trip?

OGSure offers one straightforward travel insurance product, designed to give you clear cover for the kinds of things that can disrupt travel.

Things like cancellation and medical emergencies to baggage problems, delays, and cruise ship evacuations.

The exact benefit limits depend on the currency your policy is issued in.

One product. Clear cover.

The policy is designed to cover sudden and unforeseen events during a trip. It is not a form of private medical insurance.

OGSure is built to keep travel insurance simple.

We offer one main product rather than multiple complicated tiers, so it is easier to understand what is included and what matters most before you travel.

What is included?

Your policy can include cover for:

  • cancellation and curtailment
  • emergency medical and related expenses abroad
  • evacuation and repatriation
  • baggage, cash, and passport problems
  • travel delay, missed departure, missed connection, or abandonment
  • personal accident
  • public liability
  • hijack
  • catastrophe cover
  • cruise ship evacuation
  • optional winter sports cover, if purchased

Benefit summary

The table below shows the main benefit limits in the current policy wording.

These limits are taken from the current summary of benefits in the uploaded policy wordings

Please note: Benefit limits shown are the maximum amounts available under the selected policy currency and remain subject to the full policy terms, conditions, limits and exclusions.

Excesses apply to some sections, and the full terms, conditions, and exclusions still matter.

Single-trip and annual cover

OGSure offers both single-trip and annual multi-trip cover.

Single-trip policies are for one continuous trip.

Annual multi-trip policies cover multiple trips during the policy year. Each trip must begin and end within the policy period.

For annual cover, the maximum trip length is 90 days per trip. If you are over 75, the maximum trip length is 60 days.

The wording also says that cover is not available for anyone who has reached age 80 for annual trips or age 85 for single trips at the start of the period of insurance.

In practice, that means annual cover is available up to age 79, and single-trip cover up to age 84.

Medical cover and emergency help

The policy includes cover for emergency medical and related expenses abroad, along with medical evacuation and repatriation, subject to the policy wording.

In serious situations, direct payment can often be arranged locally, and repatriation must be approved and arranged by the emergency assistance team.

If you need inpatient treatment, hospitalisation, medical evacuation, repatriation, or certain scans such as MRI or CT, you must contact the Emergency Assistance Centre as soon as possible.

Cruise ship evacuation

OGSure also includes cruise ship evacuation cover

Under the current wording, this can cover the cost of removal from a cruise ship or liner when you suffer sudden bodily injury or illness, need emergency inpatient treatment that cannot be provided on board.

The evacuation must be carried out by a third party such as a coastguard or military service, and an invoice has been issued for the evacuation cost.

Optional winter sports cover

Optional winter sports cover is available where the relevant premium has been paid and your certificate shows that the option has been added.

The summary of benefits includes separate limits for winter sports equipment, ski pass, piste closure, and avalanche or landslide disruption.

Important things to know

A few important points sit behind the benefits table:

  • pre-existing medical conditions are excluded unless expressly accepted
  • the policy only covers sudden and unforeseen bodily injury or illness
  • if your trip exceeds the number of days you bought cover for, no cover applies at all for that trip
  • for some cover sections, an excess applies per person and per section

If you are travelling within your usual country of residence, the wording says cover only applies where the trip includes at least two consecutive nights and pre-booked transport or accommodation.

It also says that medical expenses abroad, evacuation and repatriation, and loss of passport do not operate for domestic trips.

The same section also says that for one-way travel, cover ends when you arrive at the final destination where you intend to live permanently.
